February 2022

Brilliant sunshine here at Big Medicine, a bit cool but its February and guess Springtime is still a few weeks away...

We've managed to source some wonderful, tasty Specialty Grade coffees over the past year, some slow downs at the US ports of entry but our intrepid farmers are still growing great coffees, harvesting, processing, hauling, shipping and trucking these beans to us, here in the highlands North of Torch Lake...

We are currently stocking:  Sumatra, Papua New Guinea AX, Honduran COMSA, Mexican Terruno Nayarita, Haitian Blue Mountain, Ethiopia Gedeb Beriti Natural, Bali Natural, Guatemala Finca De Dios, DECAF Peruvian.  And we also have a few award winning coffees from the ANACAFE competition from Guatemala. All are available at winter farm market in Boyne City and we've expanded some and you can find Big Medicine Coffees at:

One of the first cafe's to serve our top grade coffees, Gildas French Cafe in Boyne City serves a wide variety of our drip coffees, espresso drinks and whole bean bags; and as of last summer, Grain Train in Boyne City now sells Big Medicine Whole Bean Coffees

A few miles to the southeast, Eastport Market sells whole bean bags, has a grinder nearby and just started serving Big Medicine drip coffee, for now were going with our tasty Organic Fair Trade Honduran

Village Market in Elk Rapids sells our whole bean bags, And new to our tribe, THE DAM in Elk Rapids, is serving Big Medicine drip coffees, Espresso beverages and has a few bags available.  And Ethanology in Elk Rapids serves cocktails mixed with our coffees and their handcrafted spirits...

To our North, Toski Sands has the widest variety of our coffees available in whole bean bags including some of our top varieties like Haitian Blue Mountain; Pond Hill kiosk has our whole bean bags - Sarah has been one of our earliest advocates - but its slow there now...and Coveyou Farms will have our bags available once they reopen late Spring and I think David is going to serve drip coffees so you can get a cup and take in the amazing view from their deck overlooking Lake Walloon

NEW CROPS:  we think most of our and your favorite coffees are on schedule, the Central American New Crops will start showing later this month. There were some lengthy slowdowns last year, especially in our Pacific harbors but am hoping we get our coffees a little swifter this year.

Then later spring, we expect the New Crops from some of our favorite Single Estate coffee farms, so we'll know in a month or two whats grading really high and has some buzz around it and we'll get 'em for you, our farm market and our cafe and store partners...

And we may add a Rwandan in a week or so, so check the website for that one, but always stellar coffees...

and in the spirit of our approaching Springtime and getting dirty in our fields again, cresco ergo sum!
